Celebrating one of our own at EWP

Jason Piper |

At EWP, we believe in celebrating the unique talents and accomplishments of our team members, and today we are absolutely thrilled to share some exciting news with you!

We are proud to announce that one of our own, Cait Patterson, has published her very first book, 1,000 Acts of Kindness. This remarkable achievement is a testament to her creativity, passion, and hard work, and we couldn’t be more excited for her.

You better believe we are first on the list to purchase a copy! Especially after reading the summary of her debut novel that we wanted to share with you:

I'm not sure exactly when I'm supposed to be feeling better. Soon maybe? Maybe never. Maybe when you lose your husband at the ripe old age of 27 you never feel better. Maybe it's normal to never feel better after losing your husband, but you're usually like 90 and the next few years don't matter much anyway. Maybe when your husband's death was your decision, you lose all ability to feel happy or normal or loved.

After six months of blissful marriage, Jen McIntyre's husband is involved in a car accident that leaves him with a traumatic brain injury. In a coma, he continues to decline and she has to make the painful decision to take him off life support for organ donation. Newly widowed, she attempts to resume normal life, struggling with the guilt of being one of the reasons he's dead. In an effort to earn forgiveness and redemption, she sets out to complete 1,000 acts of kindness. She reconnects with old friends, makes a few new ones, adopts a dog, and learns some unexpected details about her husband - things he never told her. Drowning in grief, struggling to understand why her husband would keep so much from her, she searches for answers. She searches for the good - any good - that could possibly come from her heartbreak, and finds it, plus love, grace, and forgiveness along the way.

At EWP we’re proud to have a team of individuals who inspire us every day. Cait’s accomplishment is a perfect example of what can happen when passion meets perseverance—and it serves as a reminder to all of us that there are no limits to what we can achieve. Cait has been writing stories and poems since she was in elementary school, with the dream of one day adding her own books to the literature world. A voracious reader throughout school and early adulthood, she earned a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Georgia. She married the boy next door, had a couple of kids, and finally has the time to write. Cait and her family currently live in northeast Georgia with a pack of rescue dogs, and spend as much time enjoying the outdoors as possible.

We invite you to join us in congratulating her on this fantastic achievement. Whether you’re looking for a great read or simply want to support a talented author, we encourage you to check out 1,000 Acts of Kindness. It’s a milestone we are excited to share with all of you, and we look forward to seeing what else the future holds for Cait! Find the book on Amazon.
